ACTIVITY 1:

Using various internet and library resources, research and list the meaning of each of the marked symbols on the six flags that once flew over Texas. Write a brief description of the meaning of each of the symbols on the back of the worksheet. Also, provide each flag with its appropriate colors, especially when the color of the flag explains part of its meaning.

ACTIVITY 2:
Make Your Own Flag

Using the symbols you learned in Activity 1, create a Texas flag of your own. Decorate and color your Texas flag with the colors and symbols you feel are important to the history of Texas. Then, on a separate sheet of paper describe why you chose the colors and symbols that you did.
