(7.3) History. The student understands how individuals, events and issues related to the Texas Revolution shaped the history of Texas.

The student is expected to:

B. Explain the issues surrounding significant events of the Texas Revolution, including the Battle of Gonzales, the siege of the Alamo, the convention of 1836, Fannin's surrender at Goliad and the Battle of San Jacinto.

Specifically:

· Texas Revolution
· Battle of Gonzales
· Siege of Bexar
· Goliad Massacre
· Battle of the Alamo
· Runaway Scrape
· Battle of San Jacinto

ACTIVITY:

The student will create a journal from the perspective of a person who participated in or witnessed the Texas Revolution (events related to the Alamo or Goliad can be second hand accounts). The student will use various materials and historical resources to make the journal as authentic as possible.
