Center for Texas Studies helps sponsor Red Steagall event

In October 2003 the Center for Texas Studies will serve as one sponsor for the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering and Western Swing Festival. The event, which promotes western heritage and the cowboy way of life, will begin on Sunday, October 19, with the Trail Ride and Wagon Train leaving Jacksboro, Texas; it is scheduled to arrive in Fort Worth by noon on Thursday, October 23. The remainder of the weekend will be filled with rodeos, cowboy music and poetry, and the Ranch Cutting Horse Association National Finals at the Cowtown Coliseum. The event is scheduled for October 24-26, 2003.
