The Center received a grant from The Jane and John Justin Foundation for on-going
operational expenses.
The
Center sponsored the Texas Flag Exhibit, which opened
on February 28, 2004, at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin
and concluded at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, closing on February

The Center for Texas Studies has been chosen to participate with the Fort
Worth Independent School District in a Department of Education "Teaching
American History Grant."

The
Center helped sponsor the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering
and Western Swing Festival.
The Center received a $10,000 grant from The
Summerlee Foundation to conduct community public history workshops.
The Center for Texas Studies received a grant from the Amon G. Carter Foundation
to conduct Teacher Education Workshops during
2003 and 2004.

TCU received $1.5 million donation to establish the Ralph
and Erma Lowe Chair in Texas history. This generous donation will create
the first chair at any Texas university dedicated exclusively to the history
of the Lone Star State.
The Center for Texas Studies was chosen to participate with the Fort
